3E ALPHA Ministry

3E stands for "Enjoy English through Evangelism". It is an English ministry that has been running for over three years now, and has recently changed to a new format, which we call "3E ALPHA". Last September 19th we began the first season in the new format, which will finish in December. The course is only open to non-Christians, and is limited to around 40 new friends, so that we can spend focused time together for witnessing and discipleship, walking alongside our new friends until many of them decide to follow Christ. The new 3E Classroom is designed to introduce Taiwanese non-believers to the basic doctrines of the Christian faith through conversational English.

The Purpose of 3E ALPHA

3E ALPHA acts as a strategic gateway for the unchurched to come into first contact with Christians, and learn firsthand about our faith. By getting to know Christianity, and by building relationships with believers they get to know our faith better, and become more familiar with Truth Church. Over time, many begin a new life with Christ because of their relationships with co-workers in 3E ALPHA.

The Strategy of 3E ALPHA

We attract seekers by providing a comfortable, fun, low-pressure English learning environment. Each week we also introduce our new friends to a new core Christian belief, through topics such as: "Who is Jesus?", "Why and how do I Pray?", and "Why and how should I read the Bible?". The course runs for 11 weeks, with required sign up, which encourages more stable attendance. During the week, English-speaking and Chinese-speaking co-workers work together to follow-up with seekers during the week. During the course, our Chinese co-workers invite any interested seekers or new believers to their Chinese small groups (or an advanced course) for further mentoring and discipleship.

Group Discussion Time in Chinese (native English do not participate in this group time, since we don’t want to encourage a teacher – student relationship)
