Dear faithful supporters,

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11

Thank you

We want to begin this letter by thanking the many of you who responded to us regarding our previous update stating our ministry changes. We thank you for your consistent support, encouragement, love, and prayer. Each day continues to bring confirmation that Taipei, Taiwan is indeed where God is calling us to serve and we are excited as we embark on this journey together.

Ministry details
As we begin our long-term service in Taiwan, we will continue to serve at Taipei Truth Church. The English outreach we previously served in, 3E, is going to be restructured, focusing more heavily on reaching seekers. Rather than being open to the public, it will take on more of a “class” feel, allowing seekers to sign up for a course, which will introduce them to the basics of the Christian faith. We hope that with this approach, we will be able to retain more consistent attendees and have opportunities for better follow-up throughout the week.
When we return to Taipei in July we will both be taking on more leadership roles of this ministry. This involves personal evangelism and discipling new Christians. Discipleship will happen in Bible studies and through mentoring relationships.
There is much potential for growth and service at Taipei Truth Church. In addition to reaching the local community, the church is involved in ministering to the underground church in China, which we hope to participate in one day.
However, in order to begin reaching our long-term goals, our first priority must be learning Chinese. We will both enroll as students in a local university in the Fall and begin full-time language learning alongside our church involvement.

Our commitment to you
We strongly believe that what God wants to accomplish through us in Taipei cannot be done without the partnership and prayer of people like you. It is our desire to be a faithful representative of Christ as we serve here. Overseas missionary service is a commitment, both on the part of the senders as well on the part of the goers. In partnering with us, we commit to:

  • doing our best to share the Gospel with unreached Taiwanese people whenever we can
  • applying ourselves with diligence to the study of the Chinese language
  • keeping you updated through monthly prayer emails

For the Glory of God,
Erich and Kelley Schindler
